About

Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic) pays you a 10-cent refund for every eligible drink container (cans, bottles, and cartons) you return. With over 600 refund points across the state, including Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) and depots, you can collect your cash or donate it to charities and community groups.

How the Scheme Works

  • Eligible Containers: Most single-serve drink containers between 150ml and 3 liters are eligible. This includes aluminum, glass, plastic, and liquid paperboard. Make sure containers aren't crushed, and keep lids on.
  • Ineligible Containers: Plain milk bottles (of all sizes, including plant-based alternatives), wine and spirit bottles, and cordial/concentrate containers are generally not accepted.
  • The Process: Check for the 10c mark on the container, then bring them to a designated refund point.
