About Mt Cannibal Flora and Fauna Reserve

Mt Cannibal Flora and Fauna Reserve is home to a vast array of plants and animals including native orchids and tree goannas. If you are really lucky you may even see a dusky marsupial mouse (dusky antechinus) or Tasmanian marsupial mouse (swamp antechinus)

  • The 2.3km loop walking track is moderately challenging with steep sections, steps and rocks. However the walk is worth the effort with sweeping views across Garfield and Garfield North.
  • NO dogs allowed to help protect the unique environment.
  • The reserve is managed by Cardinia  Shire in partnership with the very active Friends of Mt Cannibal volunteer group.
