Sparrow Early Learning Bunyip

Sparrow Early Learning BunyipAt Sparrow Early Learning Bunyip, we create a safe and friendly atmosphere where children are welcomed as individuals and feel a sense of belonging. Here, we strive to establish trusting and respectful relationships through the inclusion of cultural diversity and acceptance.Families are encouraged to be involved with all aspects of our service including policy review, menus and children’s learning through Storypark.Inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy and guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, our educators provide a holistic, play-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on nature and outdoor learning experiences. We celebrate each child as unique and our dedicated educators focus programming on meeting the individual needs and interests of each child.Indoor learning spaces feel just like home and are filled with materials and resources that come straight from nature and everyday life. Activities are largely open-ended to allow children to follow their interests, use their imagination and stimulate social interactions with their peers and educators.Engaging outdoor spaces provide further opportunities for imaginative and collaborative play, with children enjoying the unstructured open green spaces, quiet shady areas, sandpits and climbing equipment. We look forward to showing you around our service!

St James Catholic Primary SchoolSt James Catholic Primary School is nestled in a peaceful, semi-rural setting. Our school is deeply rooted in the values of the gospel, reflecting them in our actions, relationships, and commitment to child safety. We place great importance on developing student voice as part of our child safety initiatives and hold the dignity of every person at the heart of our mission. We believe in the power of partnership with parents, recognising them as the first and most important educators of their children. Together, we work to support each child's education, fostering a community where students are encouraged to engage, inquire, and grow. Our dedicated staff provides meaningful and challenging learning experiences that cater to the individual needs of every student. Our core values of being RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL, and SAFE guide our interactions, creating a positive learning culture. Our well-connected community, supported by an active parent group, has helped enhance our playground with several new additions to cater to diverse interests. We invite you to visit our school, explore our modern learning spaces, and see the wide range of facilities we offer, including our library, art, STEM areas, and indoor sports facilities. Parish Information Link

St Joseph's Catholic Church Iona

St Joseph’s Parish, Iona was established by the late Archbishop Carr, Archbishop of Melbourne, in 1905. It then covered the area from Nar Nar Goon North to Tonimbuk in the North and Koo Wee Rup to Lang Lang in the south. The Penal Settlement on French Island was also included. This Penal Settlement was later transferred to the Dalyston (now Cowes) parish. Prior to that this whole area belonged to St John’s Parish, Dandenong. The first Parish Priest was Fr J Byrne. Then there were churches in Iona, Nar Nar Goon and Koo Wee Rup. The first Assistant Priest, Fr Goldsprink, was appointed in 1909. In 1946 the Koo Wee Rup – Lang area was cut off from the Iona Parish to become St John the Baptist Parish, Koo Wee Rup.

St. Thomas Aquinas College

St Thomas Aquinas College, located in the rural township of Tynong (approximately 75 km south-east of Melbourne), is a traditional Catholic co-educational school serving students from Preparatory (Foundation) through to Year 12. Established by the Society of St. Pius X in 1993 with the acquisition of a 16‐acre property, the College was founded on the vision of offering a complete Catholic education grounded in the Church’s enduring teachings.Mission & EthosThe College motto, "Honor Excellentiae Debetur" (“Honour is owed to excellence”), is derived from the writings of St Thomas Aquinas. The institution’s vision is to form in each youth “the true and perfect Catholic,” while its mission is to provide a holistic education—spiritual, intellectual, physical, moral, social and domestic—according to the example of Christ. To this end, St Thomas Aquinas College strives to:cooperate with Divine Grace so that souls may return to God (their ultimate destiny)develop students of strong Catholic character—rooted in principles, faith, and love for Christ and His Holy Motherpromote a love of the traditional liturgy and the perennial devotions of the Catholic faithprovide a safe, happy, home-like environment, modelled on the Holy Familyoffer an education that challenges and nurtures students’ spiritual, moral, academic, cultural, sporting and creative growthexpect teachers with strong interior life, moral strength and vocational fidelitycultivate in students affability, respect, good manners, self-responsibility, self-discipline, devotion to family and service to Church and society.Educational Offering & CommunityAs a co-institutional school (boys and girls from Preparatory to Year 12) under the Society of St. Pius X, the College offers a “wonderful learning environment” combining rigorous academic standards with faith-centred formation. Located in a regional setting, the campus gives students the benefit of a spacious and peaceful setting while remaining within reach of the Melbourne metropolitan area.Within this context, the College encourages each student to develop their God-given talents fully, in a spirit of academic excellence, personal maturity, and service. The community emphasises tradition, reverence, character, and the understanding that education is not simply about knowledge, but about forming the whole person—body, soul and spirit. Why It MattersIn today’s fast-changing world, St Thomas Aquinas College offers a distinctive choice: one that holds fast to the time-tested teachings of the Catholic Church, fosters a love of truth, beauty and goodness, and prepares young men and women to be faithful, capable, and generous members of both Church and society. By situating its educational mission in the traditions of the faith and the rigorous demands of moral and intellectual life, the College stands as a beacon for families seeking more than just academic credentials—they seek formation of character, virtue and a meaningful life.
